SoundRange

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 19, 2026

In short: SoundRange collects no data. Audio passes through on your Mac and is never recorded, saved or sent anywhere.

SoundRange is a Mac app that controls the volume, output and sound of each app on your Mac. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it.

Audio

To change an app's volume, SoundRange passes that app's sound through itself on its way to your speakers or headphones. macOS calls this "System Audio Recording" and asks for your permission first. The sound is processed in memory, in real time, and played back immediately. SoundRange never records, saves or transmits audio.

Data we collect

None. SoundRange has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no crash-reporting services and no network access.

Data stored on your Mac

Your settings (app volumes, outputs, EQ curves, profiles, keyboard shortcuts and device preferences) are stored only on your Mac, in SoundRange's own preferences. Deleting the app removes them.

Purchases

SoundRange Pro is sold through the Mac App Store. Apple processes the purchase; SoundRange only receives confirmation from the App Store that Pro is unlocked on your Apple Account. We never see your payment details.

Children

SoundRange doesn't collect information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
